ClariVein™ (MOCA)

Endovenous ClariVein™ Treatment for Varicose Veins

At the Vein Institute Of Toronto, we are proud to offer one of the newest endovenous ablation technologies, ClariVein™ to treat patients with varicose veins. Unlike other thermal-based endovenous techniques such as endovenous laser ablation (EVLA) or radiofrequency ablation, Endovenous Clarivein® treatment does not employ heat to promote closure of treated veins.
Endovenous ClariVein™ treatment for Varicose Veins

What is Endovenous ClariVein™ treatment?

The Clarivein® technique involves the use of a mechanical device along with sclerotherapy injection of the vein to be treated. The Clarivein® infusion catheter system has a specialized rotating dispersion tip that allows for better, more effective, 360 degree coverage of a sclerosant chemical to treat the incompetent vein. It is two to three times thinner than the devices used in radiofrequency and laser ablation, and it requires just one tiny entry point in the skin. ClariVein is performed using a local anesthetic with ultrasound visualization of the veins. The procedures take less than 30 minutes.

What Are The Advantages Of Endovenous ClariVein™ Treatment?

MOCA™ varicose vein treatment using the ClariVein™ catheter
has many advantages over existing techniques, including:

Use of Micropuncture Technique for Vein Access with No Surgical Cutdowns:

At The Vein Institute of Toronto™, we utilize a unique micropuncture technique to insert the MOCA™ catheter, which minimizes patient discomfort, and has led to a 98% technical success rate in performing the procedure.
